Taking inspiration from her experiences as a swimmer, Sandy Bluhm creates art that draws on the power and subtlety of water. A highly experienced ocean swimmer, Bluhm’s art uses the traditions of sumi-e and suminagashi to depict the ever-changing qualities of perception and  in her Ideation sequence, the shifting kaleidoscope of thought itself. More recently Bluhm has been exploring the immediacy and graphic impact of relief printmaking, alongside her design and print work. Winter 2015 sees her developing a 40ft wall mural for Berkeley Aquatic club in New Providence, New Jersey. Please check back for progress on this, or follow SANDYBLUHM ART.
